Important safety notice for children's watches in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR)

This is a targeted safety notice for the proper and safe use of children's watches (analog, digital, smart/GPS with or without SIM, battery-powered and rechargeable models). As they may contain small parts, glass, battery/electronics and their water resistance is limited by the manufacturer's specification, please follow the instructions below.

Basic safety and handling principles

• Age appropriateness and supervision: Use the watch appropriate to the child's age; ensure adult supervision for young children.
• Small parts and batteries: Removable parts and button batteries (if any) pose a swallowing hazard; if swallowing is suspected, seek urgent medical help immediately.
• Glass and sharp edges: Do not wear the watch if the glass is cracked, the case is cracked, or there are sharp edges; have it repaired.
• Magnets and electronics: Keep magnetic clasps and charging connectors away from payment cards and sensitive electronics.
• Water and moisture: Respect the water resistance marking; "water resistant" does not mean suitable for swimming unless explicitly stated by the manufacturer.

Proper and safe use

• Strap and wearing: Adjust so the watch fits snugly but does not press; use a secure clasp and a model designed for the activity during sports.
• Crown and buttons: Do not operate underwater; after setting, they must be pressed/screwed in according to type.
• Smart/GPS functions: Use SOS and tracking functions according to the manual; follow school and local rules for electronic device use.
• Charging: Charge only with the recommended cable/power source, on a firm non-flammable surface, in a ventilated area; do not cover the device while charging and the child must not sleep with it.
• After contact with salt water: Rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it.

Cleaning, maintenance and storage

• Cleaning: Clean the case and strap with a soft cloth; do not soak leather straps; avoid aggressive cleaners and acetone.
• Maintenance: Regularly check the glass, crown, buttons, strap and clasp; replace or repair damaged parts.
• Storage: Store dry, away from direct sunlight and magnetic sources; store rechargeable watches long-term with approximately 40–60% charge.

Specific health warnings

• Skin and allergies: Some metals, silicone or dyes may cause reactions; if redness, itching or rash occurs, discontinue use and clean the skin.
• Hygiene: After sweating, ventilate and clean the skin under the watch; prolonged moisture may cause irritation.
• Implanted devices: For magnetic clasps and wireless charging, maintain the recommended distance according to doctor/manufacturer advice.

Disposal

• Ecological disposal: Do not dispose of electronics, accumulators and batteries in household waste; hand them over to an electronic waste collection point. Sort packaging and materials according to local regulations.

Incidents and contact

• In case of an incident (cut by broken glass, skin irritation, swallowing battery/part, overheating during charging) stop using the product immediately and seek medical help if necessary. Keep the product and proof of purchase for complaint handling.
