This is a targeted safety notice for the proper and safe use of hats (knitted winter, cotton, fleece, lined, with pom-poms, with reflective elements, children’s with cords). Since they may contain small parts, cords, and flammable textiles and come into contact with the skin, please follow the instructions below.

Basic Safety and Handling Principles

• Keep out of reach of small children: Removable decorations (pom-poms, buttons, patches) and small parts pose a choking hazard; the product is not a toy.
• Cords and tying: Long cords can cause strangulation; do not tie tightly and do not use hats with cords during sleep or unsupervised play.
• Fire and heat: Textiles are flammable; keep away from open flames, sparks, and hot surfaces.
• Visibility and hearing: Do not wear the hat in a way that restricts the field of vision or significantly muffles hearing in situations requiring awareness of the surroundings.

Proper and Safe Use

• Size and comfort: Choose a size that does not constrict or slip; discontinue use if headaches or irritation occur.
• Weather conditions: Wet and frozen materials may reduce thermal comfort; replace the hat with a dry one if it becomes soaked.
• Activities: For sports and working with machinery, choose snug-fitting models without dangling decorations; the hat does not replace a helmet or other personal protective equipment.
• Reflective elements: When moving in low visibility, prefer hats with reflective elements; however, these do not replace full lighting.

Cleaning, Maintenance, and Storage

• Cleaning according to material: Wash knitted/cotton hats gently according to the label; wool and lined hats should be hand washed or dry cleaned; do not use aggressive cleaners.
• Drying and shaping: Dry flat away from direct heat and sunlight; do not deform by wringing or hanging by the pom-pom.
• Parts inspection: Regularly check seams, attachment of pom-poms and decorations; tighten or remove loose parts.
• Storage: Store dry and ventilated; protect wool hats from moths (e.g., by placing a suitable repellent inside).
